The Best Robot Hoover

The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its price is surprisingly low and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models also self-empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin in the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also have carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work, or at school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto vacuum and mop-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaner we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's more expensive and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the degree of dirt they are.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for models with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum reviews vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other robot vacuum cleaners best mop cleaners we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or set up the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've test. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
