World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade option lets players increase an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their effectiveness. This can boost the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu using the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you will get from every point of health you possess and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, when consumed give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or in an Alchemist's chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item upgrades's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "upgrade items" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.

There are also lingering potions that are brewed using dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that has a purpose but is not important as a Thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying new ones. It can be done by the player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer useful which allows a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an attractive alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the Best item upgrader-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that will not be replaced in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they no longer have value and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket, unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
