World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade item you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be found on all item upgrader tooltips. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it will be able to deal. The level of an item can be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are many theories about how the item level is calculated. One theory says that the item level is calculated by an equation that determines how valuable an item's stats really are. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, because the level of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give items additional damage or special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to differentiate them by naming them.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each level of the item and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Moreover there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or created using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has a success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item level upgrade Upgrader CORE client config.
