The Best robot hoover (i was reading this)

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Make sure you regularly examine the brushes of your robot for tangled hair as well as large debris and wash them if needed. Some models will automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they utilize smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the Best robot vacuum uk robot vacuum for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however, it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot cleaner vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it's worth choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto vacuum and mop-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
