3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. 4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot cleaner vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, it's worth choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very useful.

It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto vacuum and mop-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance.
