World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all its upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the item level. It's a sign of the item's damage and its quality. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when examining the inventory of a vendor.

On PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full item description, including its value. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item upgrader kit is calculated. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is usually very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the region the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, for instance by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant component of what determines the value of an item upgrader kit for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Another way to change the stats on an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or other special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll the affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the range, unless they are an exclusive item, or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Furthermore there are certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be bought from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. Every item has a base success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.

The item upgrade; ezproxy.cityu.Edu.Hk, overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
