Path of Exile item upgrading Upgrades

item Upgrader kit upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to the more modernized Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using an expert or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from items.

The amount of damage that an armored piece or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by a piece armor will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade item level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be more heavy.

There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades that are that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. For instance, certain upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it lighter and stronger. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade an item can receive, as shown below.

Some upgrades are magical or a combination of technology and magic which is shown by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require a charge to use, which are identified by an "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire, dependent on the upgrade.

The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be obtained by exploring the environment and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant boost in stats, and are worth the cost.

Upgrading a piece of armor to its maximum upgrade level will significantly boost its defense however, the user must be aware that putting on weight will drastically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The added defense generally isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade can increase the damage dealt by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a rifle that snipes. Some weapons have special upgrades to improve their inherent capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain number of monsters or bosses or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of Bars. The higher the upgrade item level, the higher the number of bars are required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be less.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. Before you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a set amount of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher rarity. You could do this until you reach a maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, following which the upgrades would reset.

It's possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off visiting stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels, but good base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a better chance of giving you the highest tier advantages and benefits.

The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they most often use to help them level up quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates utilize to increase their power. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing a stat and providing secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method of making them, in which you combine the gemstone with specific reagents on a table. The higher the grade of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can enhance the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the level of the jewel it can provide different stat boost when slotted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

The Jeweler can craft all tiers of gems, except for the rare and legendary ones which require an appropriate level to obtain. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out with a jewel of the same type without damaging the original one. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in a piece of equipment once.

It is common to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction from pivots do not damage them.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also a scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components like traits or aegis cannot be exchanged, and can only be found through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that provide an array of tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. You can find them in the start-up area as loot or as personal story rewards. They are also available through vendors and after doing road interaction. They can also be made by jewelers, and found or purchased on the Trading Post.

The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants a small, but valuable boost in speed of movement and evasion. After that, they'll be able to get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar fashion to how the player obtains armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with specific types of trinkets.

These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that are active when the hero is not in combat. This lets the hero be more effective while inactive and may also help fill in the void of a strong team or the absence of any talent tree slots that would normally be filled with hero's ideal statistics.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is true especially if you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item Level Upgrade. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat instead of two subpar ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the start of the game. Mid and top players however, will choose a green or a pink ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets that form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing the main quest of a chapter or beating the boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
