Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from missions and chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, include their name at the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding an Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item upgrader mod can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an Best item upgrade doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will have less chance of success.

Engineers may use a level in order to compare the height of the building with a known location, such as the benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be done via the item upgrader menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This could be a positive or bad thing depending on your requirements and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes number sets that give an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item upgrader kit. This is a good way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can help you create a more powerful character faster, allowing you to progress in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can have various dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs, which can be particularly useful in some builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could improve their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
