It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a great deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and operates when you're at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and washes and dry mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to how dirty they are.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots.
