Item Upgrading Isn t As Tough As You Think
World of Warcraft Upgrades and item upgrade Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will gain 3% of its previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following an update.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.
In the final game, you will often find that the Best item upgrader way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs, and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item upgrader mod.
When a player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by 10 points. This Best item upgrade is highly valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
