Upgrading gear increases its base stats and sometimes boosts its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are made available.

The racial Shield elite Razortail, for example, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption function in PvP or provide additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more marketable than the non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens permit you to roll a purchased item like a weapon, armor or ring. The item is replaced by another item of the same type, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective way to upgrade gear. However, they do not retain the level of the original item, and any wasted resources won't be compensated for.

Survivors may acquire reroll tokens by a variety of means like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in crates and chests or buy them at the market for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute of an item for example, increasing its damage or granting it a new stat.

Players can roll their equipment using three attributes three categories: physical power, magic power and health. Upgrades to physical power increase damage from weapons and melee attack and spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an extra health.

There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a better quality. To produce them, you require an upgrade level token to reroll. The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item. This includes the type of item (either Armor or Weapon), the tier of the Best Item upgrade and the Upgrade Token required, and the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
